BEACHES
Pinellas County offers beach access at 31 parks and 135 access points. There
are three major parks on the Gulf of Mexico coast.
Fort DeSoto Park is one of the largest county parks in the state with more than
seven miles of shoreline and nearly 3,500 parking spaces. There is also the
historic fort the park is named for, a fishing pier and a leash-free dog beach.
Sand Key Park, located mid-county just south of Clearwater Beach, offers nearly
a half-mile of beachfront.
Howard Park in Tarpon Springs provides beachfront access to northern Pinellas
County.
Two major state parks, Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island provide nearly five
miles of natural beach access.
